About Me, Jane Rosa Oglesby, Member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC)
I qualified in Acupressure Massage in 2003, and in Acupuncture in 2005 from the Northern College of Acupuncture. I practice acupuncture in a purpose built treatment room in the beautiful and picturesque village of Helperby in North Yorkshire.
My usual treatment days are Monday and Friday, though I can be flexible and occasionally treat on other days, evenings and weekends.
Acupuncture Complementary Not Alternative
I have a long history of being interested in various aspects of “alternative medicine”, for example my first qualification in Swedish Massage was in 1988. Since being able to study acupuncture I can now see this interest as complementary to Western Medicine, not an alternative to it! I was originally fascinated by acupuncture after going for treatment myself for knee pain – I must have been a terrible patient as I kept asking questions ….. I was then and still am amazed at how effectively it works.
I now practise a combination of acupuncture and also acupressure massage (for those who don’t like needles!). In addition I use other aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine including the use of moxibusion and cupping as best suits the patient.
Facial Revitalisation – the natural alternative to a face lift - after having studied under one of the worlds leading experts in this specialty.
Jane was a founder member of the Acupuncture for Childbith Team (ACT) which was a professional acupuncture group offering specialist treatment for fertility, pregnancy, childbirth and post-natal health.
